How can I use a Laptop Display as a 2nd Desktop display?

I have an Acer Desktop PC and a Dell Laptop.

I can run my PC Monitor as a 2nd display from the Laptop - no problem.

What I want to do is use the Laptop Display as a 2nd display from the PC.

I purchased a VGA Video Splitter - but when I connect it, the PC Monitor goes blank.

When I go to Display setting on the PC, I do NOT see an option for a 2nd display.

Assistance is appreciated.

Can't be done AFAIK. Laptops usually only have ouptups not inputs.
