Hey guys, um do i need to update my BIOS for my mother board?
I have gigabyte x58A UD3R rev2. I've never ever updated bios.. only chipset and lan drivers.

I been having crazy problems recently due to new PSU and 6870 gpu. just seeing if new BIOS may make things better..

1) BIOS will typically not fix "bugs" related to PSU &/or GPU. I would lean first to bad drivers and make sure you have the latest ATI drivers to see if that helps. Of course, it shouldn't hurt upgrading your BIOS to rule that out as a cause.

2) I would run MemTest86+ for at least 7 passes to rule out any possible RAM issues.

3) The UD3R has been know to be very "buggy" so I wouldn't rule out a defective board.

so far going back to the old GPU 5870 has made things normal again. Whereas the 7-8 reformats have all ended badly on the 6870.
