ATi's answer to nvidias physx?

ATI's solution is Havok. It is mostly (if not at all) implemented in software and is in the Catalyst drivers. I do not think NVIDIA have anything similar to Eyefinity at the moment although i am pretty sure they will come up with something in the near future. But at the moment they have more important problems to solve; get an actual card on the market.. then improve it.

Nvidias counter to Eyefinity is called Vanilla Surround. Also Nvidia will bring us 3D Vision Surround which is Eyefinity + 3D vision.

One major con is that you need two cards in order to use a 3 or 4 Eyefinity setup. But it will be accessible to both the new Fermi cards as well as the 200 series.

You will probably want 2 x GTX 470's in SLI for 3D Surround.

sabot, any idea how these 470's will compare to the 5970?

From the leaked info they won't even be in the same universe, the GTX 470 is probably between a 5850 & 5870, so the 5970 will probably be twice the performance.
However all of this is based on leaked info, and can change.

reason I asked is because i just got (well as a gift, 2 5970's and would hope that this would be faster than anything nivida offers ..

If you dont mind me butting in here and saying "So what if the 470 GTX is faster than the HD 5970?" I mean why be so worried about it being any faster? You already have two 5970s so why not just enjoy them?

Uh, I don't care to much about PhysX, or at all realy, but I realy wish that ATI could make some awnser to 3D vision.

Havok is in oblivion, source engine games, and any other number of games.
