IS HIS 4870 and SAPPHIRE 4870 CF POSSIBLE????

HI

I CURRENTLY HAVE A HIS HD 4870 512MB AND I AM GETTING A SAPPHIRE 4870 1GB IN A REALLY GOOD DEAL
SO I ACTUALLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I CAN MAKE A CROSSFIRE SETUP WITH THOSE 2 CARDS...

I WILL ALSO BE GETTING A KINGWIN 1000W POWER SUPPLY FOR THE CARDS..

JUST WANT TO KNOW IF IT WOULD WORK FINE

IM EARS OPEN TO HEAR ANY ERRORS THIS MAY GIVE ME

PLZ PROVIDE CONS IF I SHOULD HAVE ANY OR IF ITS WORTH IT

ALSO OPEN FOR SUGGESTIONS

Yes you can crossfire cards of different manufacturers. A 1000w PSU is not necessary a good 650w would be great for any crossfire or SLI single card combination.

THANKS S FOR THE REPLY BUT WHAT ABOUT THE SIZE ONE IS 512MB AND THE OTHER IS 1 GIG.
AND ACTUALLY THE POWER SUPPLY IM GETTING AS A GIFT FROM MY BROTHER SO MIGHT AS WELL TAKE IT FOR NOW

The 1GB card will only use 512MB as the other card is limiting it. Since the second card you are buying is the 1GB card I suggest you save some money and get the 512MB version. Other than that its nothing to be worried about.

Paperfox, I think he's getting the card used, doesn't sound like he can get a 512 MB version. Either way, Paperfox is right, will only use 512 MB from each card, but will definetly work.

WELL YEAH ACTUALLY THE SAPPHIRE 4870 WILL BE SLIGHTY A USED CARD... BUT NOW I KNOW I WILL NOT HAVE NO PROBS THANKS FOR THE RESPONSES..

Nothing really. Should work fine, just plug them in, hook up the Crossfire ribbon, boot up, go to CCC and CrossfireX, enable it, and you should be fine.
