Hello,
Right now i own:
EVGA GTX 460 768MB
Cooler Master NV690 case
Samsung 80GB Sata hard drive
Okia 550w Power supply

Ok so i have $140~$180 to buy: Motherboard, CPU, and ram (and if there is ANY money left, a cheap hard drive) Ok i live in Florida so Im going to go to Compusa (same thing as tigerdirect) store. Ok so apart from any black friday sales, heres what i got:

Biostar A770E3 AM3 Motherboard $60
Asus M4A78T-E AM3 Motherboard $70 (this is worth $130)

ok im stuck on those motherboard's and yes $10 does help me.

Next cpu's (all oem and will be bought from newegg, btw i have a cpu cooler)
X3 425 $61
X2 545 $66
X3 715 $80

The X3 715 is a little too high for me so im stuck here again.

I can get 2gb DDR3 for $25, 1GB DDR3 for $14, and a used hard drive for $15~$30, I WANT MORE than 2GB, and i NEED more than 80gb hard drive.

Here are my options: what will give me the BEST enjoyability:

1. A770E3, X3 425, 2GB DDR3, 120~250GB hard drive
2. A770E3, X3 425, 3GB DDR3, 80GB hard drive
3. A770E3, X2 545, 2GB DDR3, 120~160GB Hard drive
4. A770E3, X2 545, 3GB DDR3, 40~80GB hard drive
5. A770E3, X3 715, 2GB DDR3, 80GB Hard drive
6. A770E3, X3 715, 3GB DDR3

7. M4A78T-E, X3 425, 2GB DDR3 100~200GB hard drive
8. M4A78T-E, X3 425, 3GB DDR3 40~80GB hard drive
9. M4A78T-E, X2 545, 2GB DDR3 80~120GB
10. M4A78T-E, X2 545, 3GB DDR3 40GB hard drive
11. M4A78T-E, X3 715, 2GB DDR3

First, Sorry you had to read all that, Please pick the best option and why. The M4A78T-E is A LOT better than A770E3 but i have less room for other parts. I am going to overclock and REALLY hope to unlock any cpu that i buy. As of right now, my favorite options (VERY hard to choose) are: 1,2,3,8,9,10. My favorite cpu in that list is the AMD Phenom 2 X2 545 since it has lots of cache, a high clock speed, and Easily unlocks to a tri or quad core.

Thanks for the help.

sorry for the HUGE story i wrote :D

ummmm.. the second and third combos beat what you have listed for motherboard and cpu on both price and quality.

(the price listed for the combo is for both the cpu and the mobo.)

for instance this is a combo that i just ordered tonight to do a simple gaming build for my kid..

additionally purchase your ram in dual channel sticks... i suggest starting out with 4gb 2x2gb dual channel.

this will allow you to run in dual channel unganged mode with your ram... your performance will increase significantly.

these look like they have an outstanding deal on them right now. so your looking at 108 for the cpu and mb, with another 50 on the ram. use your 80 gb hard drive for now, save up another 50-60$ and buy a 1tb samsung spinpoint when your ready.

Holy CRAP, thats a good deal for the ram, thanks for finding it. Looks like ill get that ram. I really dont like the 880g and x3 445... I think im going to go with the Asus M4A78T-E, AMD Phenom II X2 545, the ram kit u showed me, and ill wait a while and get a 1tb hard drive :D  thanks man!
