case: element g, haf 922, antec 902 depending on youpreference but the choice is very large here

psu: corsair 750 is pretty cheap and very high quality

mobo: I would go for a cheaper one since the one you mentioned is kind of overkill but it's your choice obviously

GPU: 5850 or 5870 (maybe the new nvidia ones coming out are also an option)

ram: any 6gb kit with low lattencies if you don't wish to overclock your system otherwise a 1600 ramkit would be better

hdd: WD caviar black 640gb is very fast and pretty cheap you can go in raid0 if you wish for more speed

Yes it's definetly good enough but if you want asus(which I prefer aswell) you could go with this one

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

these are enthousiast boards while the one you mentioned is'nt so much.
the first one is comparable to the Gigabyte you mentioned (only prettier :p )
and has a pcie slot more.

and the other two are better and much better. but this doesn't really affect performance a lot it just has more features.
