How to detect cd rom drive if not detected

How do i make the computer detect that cd rom is installed but it is telling that the device is damaged or corrupted but i bought it just few days ago..............
How do i solve this problem!? Pls Give a solution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, if you just bought it, take it back to the store and ask for a replacement.
(This is assuming you've double checked power and data connections are properly connected)

Try to uninstall the device driver using device manager. Restart the computer and see if it is autodetected and installed, if not than return it.
