Hello all,
I had recently overclocked memory in Asus P45 MB 2*2GB + 2*1GB running at 874 MHz 5-5-5-15. Never used MemTest before. When running it I've noticed it reports 3722 Mb/s memory bandwidth and dual channel. this testing was done to install new memory 2*4GB 800. So, when running new memory one stick at a time at 800 MHz 5-5-5-15 MemTest reports 2929 Mb/s, single channel. But when running 2 modules the result is 4189 Mb/s; dual channel. So far, looks good, though I got suspicios that overclocked memory actually had lower bandwidth. So, now when I test final configuration 2*4GB + 2*2GB at 800 Mhz 5-5-5-15, MemTest reports 3488 Mb/s; dual channel. 4 sticks seem to have lower bandwidth than 2 with all other things being equal. I believe never seen it mentioned anywhere before. So what's happening - normal and expected behavior or MemTest glitch or possibly something misconfigured in Bios?
