Hello,
I work for a charity in South Africa. We have been given a Sony Vaio, but the hard drive has been wiped. When trying to load Windows XP, it gets so far and then states that there is no hard drive. Do Sony have a proprietary driver for this which needs loading first? Do I have to try to get the original discs as the only way forward? I cannot believe they have physically removed the hard drive, but will be looking at this next. Thanks

make sure the hard drive is the first device followed by the optical
