Hi again guys.

I have a bfg gtx 275 and my trade up deal is running out this month.I feel that fermi wont be out in time so I'm stuck. Here is where it can get tricky for me.The 2 options that I have are to trade up are a gtx 285 oc2 1gig for $60 more and a gtx 285 oc 2gig for $100.Now the only game that I'm haveing trouble in is Mount and Blade.I'm using battle sizer to increase number of units. With all those textures which card do you think will be better for that game at 1920x1200.I had ask this question at those forums but no answer back. Will 2gigs matter over 1gig in this game?

get the 1GB

but your gtx 275 should be able to handle the game at those settings, what is your CPU?

2 gigs only work if you hit the max res of monitor which is in 2500x???? region and turn on anit-aliasing and the like.

Sorry for the lack of info.
My specs are i7 920, vista 64, and 6 gigs of ram.My card can run this game. The thing is that when ever I increase the unit soldier from let say 300 to 400 the game stutters and get a rgl error unable to lock vertex buffer. It is common in this game if u increase the battle size of units. So Im wondering will the 2gig card finally be useful in this game then the 1gig version?

im looking at the reviews and they all state the games graphics are 2006 level

I don't think the issue is your system at all, maybe the mod is just coded poorly. The 2GB version won't make a difference.

Maybe, but I'll leave it to ct615, don't play your games.

Thanks for the replies guys.
The weird thing was when I had a 8800gts 512m I could only play 100-150 units on the field and with the gtx 275 I went to 300.So I thought it was cuz of the larger bandwidth and memory on it.I'll go with the 1gig then.

There's actually no reason to trade up your GTX275 to a GTX285. A 285 is maybe 15% better than a 275, and for the games you play, you won't notice any difference whatsoever.
