I have vista 32 bit 2 00 BG RAM What is the max number I can set my Virtual memo

in simple terms ...... What is highest number value I can set my virtual memory at and run without causing additional problems?

  1. As high as the amount of free space on your hard drive...

    But why would you want to do that? It won't provide any performance gain; in fact, it could do the opposite. Just let windows manage the size.

    If u want set the size manually the recommendable is 1.5 times ur physical RAM.
  3. Use taskmanager performance tab and check your paged kernel memory usage after using the most memory hungry proggy you have and then set page file to that plus your 2GB.
  4. I thought that x32 OS was limited to 4GB total RAM. Can the total virtual memory (physical + swap) exceed 4GB?
