Need quick help Tags: New Build Systems Last response: March 24, 2010 5:01 PM in Systems Share shumaa1 March 24, 2010 4:01:25 PM Hi, Just put together a PC for my sister, and having some issues i think may be power supply related, but would like a second/third/fourth... opinion before i go spending more money. Setup is as follows... AMD Athlon II X4 620 2.6GHz AM3 ASUS M4A77TD PRO 770 Socket AM3 9800gtx ocx OCZ 4GB KIT (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600Mhz PC3 12800 GOLD SERIES DUAL CHANNEL KIT (8-8-8-26) Black 500W PSU - With 12cm Blue LED Fan 20+4pin 1x SATA 1x PCI-E Now when i boot it up, i get no video output, no post and no beeps, if i remove the ram i get beeps, if i remove the video card, no beeps still. The PSU has... +5V 38A +12V 17A -5V 0.5A -12V 0.8A +3.3V 28A +5VSB 2A Which im concerned is the issue, anyone see anything else it may be? More about : post beeps video quick shumaa1 March 24, 2010 4:04:54 PM Also i should add when i turn it on, fans spin, HDD spins up but then makes 3 clicking noises and seems to either slow down or stop. banthracis March 24, 2010 4:25:08 PM Read this post first http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-read-postin... Read it all through couple times, and can safely say i haven't made any of those errors, still think its the power supply though. banthracis March 24, 2010 5:01:45 PM We'll if you have another PSU lying around, or a PSU you can borrow from another Comp, it's a pretty easy test to do. Technically, a mobo plugged into power, a GPU and monitor should at least get to the POST screen. Won't complete it obviously, but it'll get to it. If it doesn't, it's either GPU, Monitor, PSU, MOBO or cabling issue. Can't find your answer ? Ask !
