Replace my 4850 with a 5830?

I have a 4850, should i upgrade to a 5830? would it be worth it? I have a Phenom II X3 if that helps.

I don't think you need to upgrade. DX11 is nice and shiny but there's like 4 games for it and the differences are barely noticeable. I'd wait for the 6000 series cards or the Nvidia equiv

alright, i think im just going to upgrade to crossfire. Ill just buy another XFX 4850 then. I play Bad company 2 on a 23 inch screen, 1920x1080 resolution. So crossfire will hopefully help a little.

HD4850 CF is a much better option for you.

It will be more powerful than a single 5830 and that too for less money.

Make sure your PSU can handle the load of 2 4850's and your mobo supports CF

Yeah I got a sigma monster 750watt psu. And an Asus mobo that supports crossfire

Ummm....sigma doesn't seems to be a very good quality unit.

however since it is 750W it should work with those cards.

I'd say go for it

I have the game and love it, but it's VERY demanding at the resolution you want to game at... VERY demanding. Plan accordingly.

Yeah, BC2 is alot better than MW2, in my opinion that is. But yeah, ive upgraded to crossfire, and all i have to say is the difference is insane. Although for some reason on one of the maps where its like 3 islands and water all around the water stutters alot. Idk, maybe its the drivers? but it only happens on one particular server.
