Which fan control / thermometer do I need?

Hi, I just built a new system in a Lian Li PC-P50R case

I thought I'd get some kind of temp guage and fan controller so I can, well, monitor temps and control the fan speeds (duh!). They offer a few on their website, the TR-5 and the TR-5F and the TR-5F14B (which all link to the same spec sheet: TR-5A. So, what are the differences, which one do I need, or should I skip Lian Li and look elsewhere?

Also, I'm thinking about getting an extra fan to go in the front of the case. I have plenty of empty bays in the front to mount one, but I might need a 3.5 rack like the the one it came with, becuase the current front fan is mounted to the front of the 3.5" HD rack. I think I could stick a whole extra 3.5" rack in the middle three bays, would that work? It looks like this fan is the same as the front one the case came with, so how do I get it mounted in those empty bays?

My overall goal here is to make the entire system quieter (more important) and cooler (less important ... at least until I get my hands into OC'ing)

More about which control thermometer need
  1. Most peeps will use the MoBo for fan speed control but as I am not familiar w/ your MoBo, I'll let you investigate that option.

As for a 3rd party controller, it's hard to beat the NZXT Sentry 2

  2. I looked at the Sentry as well, liking the look and function, but read it might not be good with some fans that I was using, so went with this one from Scythe:

It's been great for me, and I like the way it looks.
