My Old asus board a p5ad2 premium eat raids of all flavours for breakfast Can I ignore the 6 and just connect up

Ok, if you want to RAID 1 the hard drives, this is what I'd do (although I won't RAID 1 anything, a whole other post).:

Only use the Intel ports native to the board. You have 6: 2xSATA III, and 4xSATA II.

SATA III ports:
Port 0 - Solid State Drive for OS and Program Files, and Games
Port 1 - Optical Drive. A waste, but it'll work.

SATA II ports:
All 4 of the SATA hard drives, set up in RAID 1. This will ensure that they operate at the same speed.

You know how to set up RAID in the BIOS? You know how to set up RAID during POST?

BTW: The Marvell ports don't support RAID, are cr@p anyways, and don't support Optical drives.
