SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming..... eventually may hook up to tv (1080p) to watch movies.
PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers,
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg.com, would consider other sites for a great deal.
PARTS PREFERENCES: by brand or type: I am leaning toward the AMD as it seems best value for money in my price range at this time.
OVERCLOCKING: Maybe when needed SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Yes, when needed.
MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1200

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I am still happy with the E8400, 4850 system I built 2 years ago. I usually build a new system every 4 to 5 years, but, the wifes' dinosaur computer quit and she wants my current system after looking at what she could get from Walmart :). I am an avid gamer, but, don't have a strong preference for max graphics settings. So, I would like to build a computer with more emphasis on a better cpu/motherboard and update my GPU as needed when mid to low graphics settings start to lag. I realize that many recommend getting the best GPU that fits the budget and working back to the mb/cpu.

My main concerns are:
1. I am not sure of my mb/cpu combo, I could get almost as much cpu and mb for about $100 less... am I getting added value?
2. Is there a better ram in the price range?
3. A Intel build considered with good supporting reasons? please provide specific mb, cpu, ram recommendation
3. Any other advice appreciated, building a few computers over the last 15 years just gives me enuff knowlege to be dangerous :).

Thanks ahead of time for any advice, you are all great. You are the reason my last build, is my only build, that turned out awesome.

My Recommendatons:
CPU/MOBO Combo: Drop your CPU down to the Phenom II X4 955 and use this combo, since there is little difference between the two... http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.345266
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM - Retail or G.SKILL ECO Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO - Retail - both are cheaper and similar timings.

The rest looks good to me!!
