New system, Question about bios update

Hi,

Im going to buy a new system soon for gaming which will include a new motherboard (Asus M4A78-E) and a new processor (AMD Phenom II X4 945).

I was just wondering since i do not have a older AMD processor (since i am upgrading from intel) will i be able to just put in the phenom processor, boot up windows and then install the bios update, and if not what other methods are there of updating the bios.

i think you can save a bios update to ubs the lode on pc???
