I'm running windows 7 64bit on p6x58d-e 6gb gskill core i7 930 and when ever i go into stand by /sleep mode and i try to awake it again by keyboard it only starts for a sec then dies (like when your starting up a chain saw) . Power button same effect 1 second then dies The only way to bring it back is by removing the cmos battery and re inserting it then it will power back up normally from standby in the same state as before. Everything else runs normal games programs ,desktop, Memory passes no errors. Any help would be great thanks.

I just had an exact same issue. After sleep mode under Windows 7, the motherboard refused to wake up. When I pressed power, it would freeze on the bios logo screen, wouldnt even let me enterbios setup. Disconnecting and reconnecting battery helped.
Looks like a Bios bug, maybe a Bios update will help?
