maybe this was a SP2 so called improvement, but i do not like it.
every once in a while outlook express starts compacting my folders without
warning.
i prefer this to be done manually when i don't have to sit and wait for it
to finish, of course i can press cancel, but why is it doing this now?
for most this may not be a problem, but i have rather large documents and
sub folders and such and it literally would take 20 minutes to finish if i
let it.
i've looked for a setting to turn this off or schedule a more convenient
time, but have found none.

1. In Outlook Express, on the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Maintenance tab, click to clear the Compact messages in the
background check box, and then click OK.
3. Quit and then restart Outlook Express.
