Hey Guys,
Which of the CPU's below would you recommend for a rig primarily used to play WoW? I plan to use an ATI Radeon 5770 GPU with a GIGABYTE GA-770TA-UD3 AM3 AMD 770 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard. I have a 1920 x 1080 screen. I would also like to be able to run a simulation program (RAWR) and surf the internet while playing WoW. Thank you for your help.

CPU #1: AMD Athlon II x 4 635 Propus http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.353280

CPU #2: AMD Athlon II x 3 440 Rana http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.353282

CPU #3: AMD Phenom II x 4 955 Black Edition Deneb http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.353083

Additional question: Is there any reason to consider the Intel Core i5-750 with a P55 mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.354339

Price is not my major concern. I'm more worried about paying for more than I need.

I would think that the X4 955 and i5-750 are going to be much better in all of your intended tasks, so if you can afford them, then I'd suggest either of those.

I don't think you should worry too much about paying for more than you will need, as if you do, it will just last longer. The only way this is bad is if you don't want to wait a long time before building your own new rig again.

I have a 700w PSU and the AMD Phenom II x 4 955 Black Edition Deneb comes with a fan and heatsink. FWIW I am using an Antec 300 Illusion case that already has 4 fans. Do you think an aftermarket cooler will be required for my PCU whether it remains stock or is overclocked?

If you leave it at stock, the heatsink that comes with black edition AMD cpus is enough. But for getting a max stable overclock, you'll want an aftermarket heatsink.

If you were buying a video card faster than a 5770 then it would be a waste of money. When it comes to a cpu, WoW is more processor hungry. The Phenom II or i5 750 cpus will do what you need for WoW.
