Team Fortress 2 crashes my computer Tags: Components Last response: June 6, 2010 4:19 PM in Components Share xaelath June 6, 2010 4:12:12 AM I normally play TF2 with no problems, but yesterday I tried to boost my frame rate and downloaded a fake directx 10 installer that didn't work. I tried a system restore, I tried virus/malware scans, I tried System Mechanic. Nothing works. I suspected maybe it was my power supply failing, but that's not it. I DO suspect the "installer" messed with my system32 dll files, but I did a system restore, that should've fixed it.... STOP trying to get it to work. It doesn't, it never will, give up. I'd try a repair install. Assuming there is no virus (don't forget about rootkits.) and it is a dll problem this should fix it. m 0 l festerovic June 6, 2010 4:35:48 AM Did you try deleting the game and reinstalling? Also reinstalling direct x? You might want to run that so that you know the steam/game files are still good. m 0 l xaelath June 6, 2010 4:14:37 PM 4745454b said:First, DX10 doesn't work on XP. STOP trying to get it to work.
