Hello,

I recently got my first build up and running.
I am having a lot of trouble with something, and I assume it is my 5770.
Here are my system specs and the problem:

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 3.2ghz 955
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4
RAM: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
GPU: ATI Radeon 5770
OS: Win 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

When I try to use any 3d application, my computer crashes, goes to a brown/black/gray/blue screen. A perfect example is when I try to rate my computer and it runs any of the 3d tests, zap blue screen. When I try to run Day of Defeat Source, I can enter a server without any problems, but once I actually enter, I get stuck in a sound loop and get stuck with an annoying colored screen.

After reading this: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/ATI-Radeon-Gray-Screen-Crash,9529.html?xtmc=amd_driver_grey&xtcr=9 I am thinking I may need to RMA my card. I would like to try the unganged memory option and/or setting my voltage higher. My ? now is a noob ?, what voltage option do I raise? And if I downclock my core and memory, how do I do this?

Thanks!

If your card makes you lower voltages and memory and GPU frequencies then a RMA is necessary. Why keep a broken GPU?
