i was thinking of i5 750 but it is over budget...
should i go in for an AMD ?
  2. In that budget I would get a cheaper AM3 mobo, Athon II X3 435 or 440, 2G of RAM (you can add one more stick later) and a HD 5670/5750/5770:

    Example:

    MSI 770-G45
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130250
    AMD Athlon II X3 440
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103843
    Team 2GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313070
    POWERCOLOR AX5750
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131354
  3. can i get a i5 750 with a cheaper mobo?
  4. Ok i have got some changes ...my budget goes a bit high....

will i5 750 go good with a ASUS P7P55-M motherboard??

or any other recommended motherboard in the same price range will do..
  5. Best answer
If it's for gaming, the Phenom II 955 is just as good and cheaper. Also the good AM3 mobos are cheaper than the 1156 mobos and you'll be able to upgrade to 6 core cpus. Check the Homebuilt Systems forum, there are lots of ideas. IMO you should go Phenom II 955 + HD5770, for gaming the most important is the video card, not the CPU. For instance, the cheap Athlon II X3 440 + HD5770 is better than the i5 + HD5750.
  6. thats great!! thx bro...
  7. been surfing the net and found i5s bench marks to b better than of Phenom II 955...
    so wht shld it conclude?
  8. The video card benches are important not the CPU ones. i5 + 5770 is much worse than, say, Phenom II X4 + 5850.
  9. ah okay...
but i also want to add a point...this will b a one time investment ...i may just add a graphics card in future....or memory..
and can u help me with the components of the config u are talking about?

By the way, didn't you read the conclusion of the article?

"One very important discovery made during this review is that if you have a high-end video card, the CPU has almost no influence in the system gaming performance. So if you are building a high-end gaming machine, maybe it is better to pick a cheaper processor and invest the price difference on a faster video card."

  11. iam really sorry....and u did make me realize things.
can u help me with the mobo for X4 955. with AM3 socket and a good GPU..

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOU SORTED OUT EVERYTHING hehehehe......
  12. What's your budget? For $400 you can get:

AM3 mobo with integrated video + 955 + RAM and buy a video card later. You can play games on lower settings on that mobo:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128435

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231303
  13. budget is US423$
  14. i would want to have a ASUS motherboard....
  15. can u help and explain what exactly is a 8 series mobo?
  16. and cant i buy a mobo without a integrated video and get a gpu?
    which option will b better?
  17. i wont be over clocking
  18. depends on what you are expecting from the gpu.

if you want a high end card your budget of $400 US will be almost blown by the card.

so IMO mosox has the best solution to your problem for the moment. If you pick a mobo with integrated video right now you will stay within budget.

that adds up to the fact that you can play games right now (at lower resolution and graphics), save some money the next few months and buy a good (and often more expensive) GPU later like a 5770 or even 5850 depending on the amount of money you would like to spend

    good luck

  19. ok cool...
    THANKS a LOT!!!!
    got my config as
    955 BE
    ASUS M4A89GTD PRO
    4gig Ram.
if u like to add any changes let me know.ill be buying it this weekend.
i am worried about the mother board ASUS M4A89GTD PRO...can i get a better one?cause this one has a x8 PCI express and il be able to upgrade to 6 core?
  20. Found a site in India, you can buy this:

Asus AMD 785G M4A785TD-V EVO Motherboard
    http://techshop.in/store/product_info.php?products_id=4070
AMD Athlon ll X3 440 Processor
    http://techshop.in/store/product_info.php?products_id=4797
    GSKILL 2GB DDR3 1333MHz F3
    http://techshop.in/store/product_info.php?cPath=320_16_34&products_id=4159
    Powercolor ATI Radeon HD4670 AX4670 512MK3-PV2 512MB
    http://techshop.in/store/product_info.php?cPath=320_4&products_id=4113

    Sub-Total: Rs.19,067

Or you can buy the same mobo, it has integrated graphics the same CPU and 4G of RAM and wait for the video card:

    GSKILL Ripjaws Series 2x2GB DDR3 1600MHz
    http://techshop.in/store/product_info.php?cPath=320_16_34&products_id=4164

    Sub-Total: Rs.18,740

The X3 440 is good for gaming.
  21. thanks for ur help and time.
    i don't mind a few bucks.
    so i would rather buy a 955BE .
  22. the mobo mosox is IMO a lot better

ready for a 6 core CPU (but no need for it atm)

    and

    2x PCIe x16

22% isn't too far off, even in 'real world'. You just need a stronger GPU to tell (or a CPU bound game). Phenom II and i5/i7 are overkill for most GPUs out there, but not all.. The gap increases clock for clock as well.

    Fyi the 875k @ 4ghz and an i5-750 @ 4ghz will perform the same.

can u help me with the best mobo for 955? AM3 socket and should have x16 2slots PCI for crossfire..
  26. What's your price range for a mobo?
  27. I would recommend

    Intel i5 750

    Asus P6T Intel X58 Core i7 LGA1366 DDR3 ATX

    OCZ 4GB (2Gx2) DDR3 1333 Gold OCZ3G1333LV4

    Sapphire HD5770 1GB DDR5 PCI-E 100283L

All of them have good price at centralcomputer.com

    400US$ for the whole config
  29. Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P + 955 BE + 4 gig RAM!!!

    is THIS GOOOOOD?
  30. sorry wouldnt know,

which board is good according to you?
    within Rs10,000

would be better if it had 2x PCIe x16 asus or giga

should i go in for an AMD ?

Yea amd would be better for a budget. AMD Athlon II X4 630 Propus 2.8GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor 100$. ECS A785GM-A AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard 70$. Kingston ValueRAM 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KVR1066D3N7K2/2G 55.99$ That in total adds up to only 226 dollars. With the other hundred dollars you could get a entry level graphics card such as HIS IceQ H567Q1GD Radeon HD 5670 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card w/ Eyefinity for only 90 dollars. Take alot around new egg. You can do alot for round 322 dollars even though it seems like a slim budget. Well look at my suggestions if you dont like no no prob just keep looking. Take care and GL
  33. AM955
    M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
    4 giga ram
    !!! iam done...got it ;))
