Dekk laptop don't read dvds and cds

my dell studio laptop don't detect any dvd/cds..it just eject it!!

Have you tried with multiple discs know to work in other drives? Also try with a blank disc to see what happens. You might need to replace the optical drive, which while annoying isnt too bad.

Sounds like a hardware problem, as in the CD rom is broke or dirty somehow.

Have you installed anything recently since the problem has accured? Such as updates, programs, anything.
Try running a lens cleaner, cd rom cleaner
Send it in for a new CD-rom drive

Usually when a CD rom starts acting up, its because of a hardware problem. Especially when it was working before and just stops working all of a sudden. I doubt its the pins since its a laptop.
