Greetings All,

Installed XP. When I look at the processes running there are sooooo many, many repeated.

Not knowing the diffrence between processes running & progams running (of which only some update script is showing), would someone tell me if I need to worry about this.

Can I clean them out? I can post a list of them if this helps.

XP does seem very slow so maybe this is the reason.

change over to the classic look and see if that dont speed it up. usually its the luna look that is killing everyones speed. it really digs in to the processor.
if u have xp pro ? goto services under admin tools and cut a few of those off see if it helps. read what they do before you do thou. or u may not like the results.
also msconfig is back on this os. so goto run and type MSCONFIG goto startup and shut off everything in the systray. that should help on the boot times and power as well.

Great, I'll give msconfig a try. Used it in WIN98, didn't know if available in XP.

I haven't got Pro.

Thx James,

This has helped but I still find sometimes I double click an icon & nothing happens for 15-20 seconds. Really strange. It helps if I shut down any process with my name next to it.

Apart form that, I like it.
