$60 after MIR for a good 550W unit is a pretty good deal.
  2. I swear this is the longest-lasting PSU I have ever owned, and it is less than $40. It may be cheap but it is great if you don't need a modular power-supply.

  3. ^With all respect, that PSU isn't good for the rig that he have.

Stay away from "budget" power supplies. Go with Corsair, Antec, PC Power and Cooling or Seasonic and you will have a great, solid power supply that will last years.
  5. okay didnt think i had to mention this but the minimum requirement for the video card is 500w with a 12v/36amp which niether of the ones linked are.
  6. The one linked by hunter315 is, but it is spread out across four 12v rails at 20 amps each which will be plenty. Also Newegg just sent out a promo for this PSU to get it for $40 after Rebate with Promo Code EMCYTYV23.
  7. Actually you are wrong about that. The Antec unit Hunter posted the link to has multiple 12v rails and is more than enough for your system.

Here are the system requirements for the GTX260

    GeForce GTX 260

    Thermal and Power Specs:
    Maximum GPU Temperature (in C) 105 C
    Maximum Graphics Card Power (W) 182 W
    Minimum Recommended System Power (W) 500 W
    Supplementary Power Connectors 6-pin x2

The recommended PSU is for the entire system and I'm pretty sure that a 500W can handle the entire rig because few years ago I ran my rig with a GTX260 OC and don't had any problem.

This are two good options for u:

    1- Corsair 550W
2- Antec 550W I prefer this for the Bronze Certified but is sold out.

This little beauty has 50amps on a single 12v line and was reviewed by hardware secrets which showed great results, 2year warranty free shipping. I have seen it as low as 49.00, also the 630watt is continuous rate with 730 peak.
It also holds up well against electrical cutoffs (lightning in florida) the holdup time is long enough not to kill system while my sons and my prior one always took a dive.
