Yes, as long as it has the require 2 pci-e 6 pin power cables. The minimum for a 5850 is 450 watts, which means you will have to take the CPU and motherboard into account. What are your system specs?

its intel core 2 duo, 2 Gb of RAM, 660 GBHDD, ASUS P5GC Mx1333. the HEC has 2x 6 pin power cables.would it be ok?
