P55A-UD4P ALC889 audio vs audigy 4

Hi all,

I just bought a new PC with a gigabyte P55A-UD4P. It replaces my older PC that has an audigy 4 that is about 4 years old.

I was wondering about the quality of the ALC889, as onboard audio has a (deserved?) reputation of being bad.

WHat quality difference is there between the ALC889 and the audigy 4?
Should I install my audigy 4 or leave the onboard audio?
Should I buy another sound card?

I am not an audiophile, but I do like quality sound. I use headphones mostly to game and watch videos.

GIve me your opinions please?

Test them both and decide for yourself.

The Realtek is better in everything except noise, overall it's better.
