GTX 275 performance

Hi guys,
I think something is wrong with my EVGA GTX 275. In GTA IV, running patch 1.0.4.0 I'm getting only 40-60 fps running on high settings (no vsync) while other benchmarks use the exact same card with higher settings and get around the same fps as I do. In Bad Company 2 I'm running on high settings also, 4AA, 16AF, vsync and HBAO are both off, 40-60 fps here aswell (sometimes lower when in a buildings area).

Here is my rig:
EVGA GTX 275 (using driver 195.62)
Intel i5
4GB DDR3 @ 1333
Windows 7 64bit

Just for the note, GPU is usually around 80-85c when playing these games if it matters.

Do you think the performance that I get is alright or should it be better? Because some told me the fps I get in BC2 for example are lower than what I should have gotten with this rig.

Thanks for helpers
Ventrex

1. Is your i5 a dual core or quad core? GTA4 pretty much requires a quad to get high fps. It relies far more on the CPU than the GPU.

2. What is your resolution?

Also, what programs do you have running in the background( ie anti-virus, p2p program)?

1. i5 is a quad core running at 2.8ghz.
2. Resolution is 1680 x 1050.

At background I have runnings: Avast! Free Antivirus, mouse/keyboard/sound drivers, Steam, Babylon, Daemon Tools, EVGA precision.

IMO, your numbers look 'ok'. Those are demanding games, especially compared to something like COD mw2

BC2 numbers look close but GTA IV numbers and what I get is far from each other. I don't even know where to set the AA for the GTA IV, do you know?

Ok so I've done a 3DMark Vantage and here are the results:
3DMark score - P13871 3Dmarks
CPU Score - 43836
Graphics Score - 11297

Does it seem fine for my rig?

Thanks guys

Another question that I have is, is it ok that the graphic card temperature is around 80-85c while playing BC2 and GTA IV? Idle temp is around 40-47c.

download rivatuner and set your fanspeed to 70%-80%.

Your CPU is very good then.

As the post above me says, try upping your fanspeed to somewhat higher and see what will happen
