This might apply to other manufacturers and models too. I heard that
most laptops are made by one Taiwan based company? Don't know it that
is true or not.
Anyway, if the touchpad buttons are touchy on your M300, you may not
need to spring for a new one. It turns out that the blue plastic
buttons are affixed to the laptop case, but the actual electronic
switches aren't. The switches are on the touchpad module, which is held
by a stainless steel spring bracket against the case.
There is a bend in the steel bracket that applies pressure to the module
against the case. If there isn't enough pressure, the plastic buttons
will not make good contact with the switches. The click will not
register sometimes. In this case, 10% of the time a click did not register.
Simply removing the bracket and bending it more corrected the problem on
one M300.
