i have trouble with my Cpu, it will not go over 1600mhz. even when my Cpu are working at 100% under benchmarks. i have tried to turn speedstep off, with turning off Eist C1E in the bios, and set the power settings in windows to always on, with no success. my motherboard is MSI P6NGM-FD, nForce-630i+GF7100, m-ATX,

well, when you turn on your computer, do see any white text? If so, do you see your cpu and its listed speed?

If you dont see any white text then i would recommend 2 things:

1. remove the CMOS battery an leave it out for 5 minutes. This should reset everything to default. Cpu speed should be restored (speed step/C1E will be turned back on)

2. if that doesn't work, i would just recommend overclocking the cpu back to default speeds.

when i start the computer the cpu speed is listed, 2.4 GHz, i cant overclock my motherboard:(  so its at the Default speed.

what software are you using to check if your q6600 goes over 1600 mhz? 2.4 is the default on this CPU. Is it listed in windows as 2.4ghz?
