Normal to hear H60 hum/churn from across the room?

Trying to figure out if I need to RMA my corsair H60 (2013 edition).

The pump makes a fairly loud humming noise which I can hear over the fans on the other side of admittedly small-medium size home office. It is running at 4600 rpm per recommendation.

Is this level of sound production normal from the H60?

I have read others who say they must remove sides of case and place ears within 1 ft of pump to hear noise.

That does seem excessively loud.
It might be that you have mounted the block wrong or not tight enough, and its vibrating against the CPU or the socket.

Would try remounting the block and seeing if that solves the issue. If it doesnt, then you might want to contact Corsair.
