Hey All,

My Current Gaming Rig:

GA-790XTA-UD4
AMD Phenom II x4 B55 Black Edition (unlocked X2 555)
Visiontek Radeon 5870
4GB Mushkin 1600 RAM
HAF 922
Antec 750w EarthWatts

I just wanted to get some opinions from the community. I recently upgraded from a PII x4 925 to a PII x2 555 Black Edition. I was able to unlock the hidden cores so I am running all 4. This CPU is perfectly stable, and I have OC'd to 3.7 with a minor bump in voltage.

I recently got a great deal on an i7-920. I am considering swapping out the Gigabyte board and AMD CPU for an ASUS P6X58D, the 920, and 6GB Corsair Platinum (Tri).

My question is, What kind of performance improvement will I see? Is it worth dumping the extra ~500 into the Mobo and Memory? Again, this is purely a gaming rig.

Thoughts?

Another possibility is to sell your current 5870, add that amount to the 500 you were already prepared to spend and get a 5970, that would make your gaming rig absolutely sick (sick being a term for very very good).
Just keep your system. It doesn't need any upgrade for now unless if you are expecting the second graphic card to use as dual configuration (x-fire).

Man! What are you thinking?! That rig of yours are good and new. Why would you even think of upgrading it so soon? How did it come into your mind?
