If the motherboard is faulty would it still power up? My sister turned her pc off at the wall after shutting down and this morning it won't turn on. My brother said he measured the psu and it seems to be "all good" The pc is dead in the water, nothing turning on so I assume straight away it's the psu and that she turned if off at the wall can have that effect. I'm going over there tomorrow and have an exact replica of her pc with me anyways so I'll easily be able to narrow down the problem.

Just curious as to whether if a mobo fails, the power supply itself should still turn on right?

Thank you.
