You know that Crysis is extremely GPU intensive, you shouldn't set it to high settings. Even two years from then high end graphics cards like yours are still struggling to power that game because it is so advanced. Don't take offense if I don't respond for a few hours I need to go out to take care of something.

Can you try updating Crysis to the latest version? If this is the error code it is clearly Crysis's fault, though I don't know why something wiritten for 64-bit should crash like that.

Oh, yeh that should be working fine. I play at 1680x1050, All settings on ultra High, 4xx AA on a 4870 1gb.

Crysis has a well known problem where it run's cards in Idle ATI speed step speeds. Happened to Me, and to my brother's friend. Try restarting Crysis. If that doesn't work, you may have to reinstall it,.
March 13, 2010 9:50:30 PM

Where are you in Crysis? There is also a well known glitch/crash on the carrier.
March 13, 2010 11:08:12 PM

heyy sry man i was busy for a while. i got it taken care of it. what happened is i didn't uninstall the old drivers before updating them so they weren't working right. i installed a program called drive sweeper. it worked and i installed the newest drivers. works great now. Yes i am on the carrier thats where all my problems started. The reson i have all my graphics turned down is because my monitor isn't very good right now i havn't got my new one yet. can i max everything out with my graphic card?
March 13, 2010 11:32:26 PM

Probably, like I said the game is 2 years old now. Graphics cards should be good enough to handle their beast Crytech Engine.

Nothing slower than the 5850 comes CLOSE to handling Cry engine 2 maxed out at high res. The 5970 is the only card that handles it well.

I have a workaround....

1st step: uninstall that piece of crap
2nd step: install a decent game

Problem solved.

Dude, Crysis is an awesoem game. Do you even have it? Or are you just buthurt that whatever crap pc you have can't run it well?
March 14, 2010 11:22:59 AM

Dude, The gameplay Of Crysis is awesome. And the multiplayer fo Crysis wars is awesomer.

Do you even have it?
March 14, 2010 1:17:32 PM

I would play Crysis if it were in CS 1.6 graphics.

Again, Do you have the game?

Crysi was OK, but Crysis warhead and Crysis wars is just awesome.
March 14, 2010 2:30:38 PM

The graphics of Crysis are overrated. Any good/modern game can have the same graphics if you just turn up AA and AF in CCC. I was playing Oblivion the other day, a 2006 game, and I've amxed all the graphics and 24AA 16AF and it looks better that Crysis ( At leaste better than I can make Crysis look). Same thing with MW2. And plsu, I get like 60 frames in Oblivion/MW2, and like 20-30 in Crysis warhead.

The only reason ppl consider Crysis graphics good, Is bueacuse, the max settings that can be enbaled in game look better the in game settigns of other games, but CCC can fix that...
March 14, 2010 2:49:27 PM

I agree i think crysis is a great game. i only have everything turned down because i don't have a 1080p monitor. So once i get my new monitor can i play it at 1080p and everything maxed bacuase some of you are saying yes and some are saying no. one say the 4890 is a powerfull card and some say only the 5970 can handle it well.
March 14, 2010 3:03:54 PM

Honestly, the 4890 will get you maxed out settings at 1680x1050, with no AA, but if you want 1920x1200 or higher with AA you need at least a 4870X2/5870/5970.
March 14, 2010 3:22:04 PM

I see well I think i just beat the game kinda i crappy ending to be honest. Is there a second crysis? i know peolpe eailer were talking about some other crysis warhead or something like that. my current settings are 1024x768 AA=2x all advanced options on high.
March 14, 2010 3:25:49 PM

Yeh, Crysis Warhead is like Crysis 1.5...

Crysis 2, the direct Sequel is coming out soon.
March 14, 2010 3:28:48 PM

That should be awsome. thanks for help
March 14, 2010 3:32:31 PM

Whats AA. I have it set to 2x now
March 14, 2010 3:35:36 PM

AA= Anti Aisling.

Reduces jagged lines, Decreases FPS.

Basically, you trade prefromance and frames for image quality.
March 14, 2010 3:38:09 PM

should i turn it off?
March 14, 2010 4:20:00 PM

If you want more Frames, and lower image quality. ( But it won't help you, something is wrong, out of the oridairy)

But something's wrong, You shouldn't be getting FPS that low at those settings. Reinstall you're drivers. Try to see if it works fine with diffrnt games.

Crysis has a well Known problem where ti runes you're ATi cards in idle.

Happened to me, and to a freind.

March 14, 2010 5:16:54 PM

what do u mean something is wrong out of the oridiary i have no idea how many FPS im getting. I just installed the newest drivers 2 nights ago.
March 14, 2010 5:26:01 PM

Oh, Well with a 4890 You shoold be able to max out Ultra High with 1680x1050 and 4x aa get get decent frames.

March 14, 2010 5:33:18 PM

I'v said that the reson i have them turned down is cuz of my monitor its a crappy monior. so it would be pointless would'n it?
March 14, 2010 7:26:36 PM

I actually like Crysis, not just because it looks good either. The nanosuit concept makes for a very fun game, and the story wasn't bad IMO.
My old Radeon HD 4670 could play it on high at 1680x1050 on high with 2x AA quite smoothly, and my Radeon HD 5850 that I have now can play it at 1920x1080 on very high with 2x AA quite smoothly. Gotta love technological progress :]
March 14, 2010 8:28:08 PM

Quote:
holy SH*T how could you run 1680x1050 High 2xAA with your old 4670??? Overclocked ??? My mate got a HD 4670, 3gigs of ram and a decent non bottlenecking dual core CPU and he runs crysis 1280x1024 high no AA and aint even smooth. He thinks its playable but I think its not I mean its like 18FPS I think. Or maybe 15 fps or W/E...

It was an HIS IceQ model, I had it clocked at 800 core 1050 Memory. Between that, my Core 2 Quad Q9400, and 6 GB of ram it ran smooth as butter.

Edit: Not to say that it never ever stuttered, it did slow down under some circumstances but most of the time it was quite smooth.
March 14, 2010 8:32:46 PM

I got a question about your lagging and crash. Did this happen on the hanger of the carrier? If so, this is a known problem with Crysis, and not your system.

yes it was here.
March 16, 2010 11:51:29 PM

Oh, if it was there, no problem. My brand new system (i5 750/5850) must have crashed 5 times there, but has had zero issue anywhere else or in any other games.
