i have a inspiron 8000 that was dropped and since then has started rebooting
itself. it seems to start doing this after running for awhile so i suspect
it might be heat related. i have taken it apart and reseated everything to
make sure nothing was loose. does anyone have an idea of what i could try
next?

Thanks

If you suspect it's heat related, snag a copy of I8kfangui at
http://www.diefer.de/i8kfan/index.html. It will give you the fan speeds and
temps (of processor and HD). Of course, it says my fans are spinning at
67,000 rpm, which I doubt. :) But the temperatures seem reasonable.
