Hey all! So, I have the Phenom x4 965 and I would like to overclock it. I've never overclocked before, but I watched some videos on youtube, mostly Linus, and I think I sorta understand it. At least understand it better than I used to. My specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Deneb
Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850
ASRock 970 Extreme3 AM3+ AMD Mobo
Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX
Corsair Vengeance (2 x 4) 8GBs RAM DDR3 1600 Blue
Antec BP550 Plus 550W
I would like to see if I could get to 4.0GHz or more with this mobo and cpu. I'm not sure about vrm cooling or if my mobo is good with OC'ing so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks all

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

First thing that you have to do is download CPU-Z latest version and CoreTemp. Let me know what revision is your CPU because of that depends the overclock that you can get.
