AMD 7770 Freezing when changing settings

I recently got a computer with an MSI 7770 I love it it plays bf3 on high settings with low 40 high 55 FPS
I thought I would try the amd Catalyst to try and up the performance to try and get some extra fps but whenevener i change the settings like clock settings or memory clock settings it always freezes the computer and I have to set it back to default.
Is there some ratio of GPU Clock settings/memory clock settings you need?
