Hello, I have a Dell PC (GX520) running Windows XP and SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio. Most of the time, the sound is fine, but sometimes it is scratchy. The scratchy sound seems to be linked to high CPU usage. I haven't succeeded in finding a driver update. Could this be caused by overheating?

Dirty board can cause overheating and other problems. Invest in a can of compressed air and clean the innards.
