Dell Dimension 8300 board

Sigh, my Dell-D 8300 clamshell POS case has disintegrated. Can I stick the board in a standard 3rd party case like Antec? Everybody at Fry's has told me no, maybe somebody here knows better, what can I do.

If you want to keep your old board, then search ebay or craigslist for just the case or case plus board, which may not be much more. Always good to have a spare board. I've seen cases like yours for $10 here in austin tx on craigslist. The antec case may not be a perfect fit due to the dell integrated backplate. Also, some of those old dell boards snap in place and don't use mounting screws.
