A file is not opening to me wat can i do

Hello,
If I open a word docuent and at the time re-name it is converted into a file. after doing my letter on word it is not opening? What can I do?

Make sure the name ends with .doc

This is why I always set windows to show file extensions. It confusing when you can't open MyTest.doc only to find out that when you show extensions, it's actually MyTest.doc.vbs and you're not seeing the .vbs with extensions off.
