How to check 2nd RAID1 to see if data duplicated?

I am using a RAID 1 Newertech Guardian Maximus and want to see the contents of the mirrored drive to see if data is being duplicated. Also, how do I check if the second drive is properly installed. 10.7.3 just shows the RAID1 as one drive. Thanks.

turn the computer off, remove (or just unplug), the first drive. Likely you will get an error or warning message, but you should be able to move past this and use the drive like normal (but with a warning saying that it is time to replace the other drive). When finished simply turn the computer off and plug drive 1 back in.
