How to restore mypassport driver

My hard drive cannot be open and I always receive an error message of no hard installed.

External drive? First check it with another computer. If it does not see it, remove the drive from the external case, either get a new case to use with it, or install it as a second drive directly into the PC. If it's an issue with the case, that will enable you to use the drive again.
