Zalman Heatsink on a Dell Optiplex 280 Minitower

Greetings,
I had recently been asked by a neighbor to silence her ancient Dell Optiplex GX280 mini-tower system.

Once I evicted the colony of dust bunnies and herd of dead spiders, I was able to get it to operate quieter.

To make even quieter, I was considering installing a ZALMAN CNPS 9300AT SuperFlo CPU Cooler that I happen to have in my pile o' parts, but then I recalled that Dell is notorious for using proprietary heatsinks.

The question is, has anyone successfully installed a Zalman heatsink in a Dell desktop machine? If so, what mods did you have to make to get it to work?

Thanks and have a HOOAH day!!!

Leave it as it is. One effective solution is replace the del fan with low noise fan in the market. Other than that dell's case wont accomodate a lot of standard after market coolers.
