Whats good to get

looking to see what to get in a few weeks, I have been seeing the I3 I5 I7 cores, and the black edition from amd...now I have the 4450e processor athlon x2 64 at 2.3 ghz. but I cant upgrade to anything too large so I would have to get a new motherboard since mine cant be over clocked. so whats good to get without breaking the bank.

  6. Well, if you wanted to just upgrade the main parts of the system, I've found a few parts that might be good.

    AMD is the best price for performance in the low end right now.

    Processor:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103706 About 10-15% slower(at the same clock, it could easily be overclocked to the 955's speed) but is under $100 and is still a quad core.
    I like quad cores, because most programs will get more threaded as time progresses.
    Motherboard:

Some Phenom IIs might not be able to run the 1600mhz ram, but this ram was cheaper than many 1333mhz parts and you could always run it at 1333mhz with lower timings.

    All this is just for a mid gaming build. Hope this helps ;) . I tried to keep the parts at a mid level, not too expensive but not very cheap. There are a few more parts you will need unless you keep the old ones, like case, hard drive, and cd/dvd drive. A new PSU would be the only thing needed most likely, depends how good the old one is.

    I'm still a little confused about if you wanted to keep your old motherboard, but I would recommend getting new parts as long as you can afford it.
