Overlocking failure?

Hello!

I overlocked today my cpu (intel i5-2320).
Increased it by 400mhz without any voltage adjustments.
I done it through bios and managed to get temperature reading of 80C while doing stress test through prime95.
But then, i noticed that most programs tell me that i am running at 3.0ghz.
Is the reading false or is it that the overlocking failed?

I overclocked my cpu through bios.
It went from 10000 to 10400.
The programs that specificly show 3ghz is CPU-Z.
The clockrate never went above 3100 even under stress.
Somehow, the maximum temperature of the cpu increased from 70 to 80 which showed that it should be overclocked.
