Hello,
OK so i purchased this Gigabyte 7970 and i know that the core voltage is locked. My question is... Can you still adjust core/memory Clocks while Core voltage is locked. Would this be wise to do?

More about : gigabyte radeon 7970

Of coarse. You should still be able to overclock at least a little on stock voltages. Also make sure the voltage IS locked. Try using Trixx.

Thanks for the Reply. Yeah my Voltage is locked on Trixx it says it is at 1170. What would be a safe clock/memory setting on 1170 core voltage??

I mean I would imagine 1100 core, 1500 memory would be possible.

yes, you still can tweak core frequency. btw, the default voltage of Gigabyte 7970/7950 reaches the max. parameter that AMD suggests. it's not safe to overdrive more...

All SAPPHIRE cards come completely unlocked. I have had 3, and my brother has 1. They have never broke no matter how high I pushed them.

i also have Gigabyte 7970 and in Trixx my voltage goes till 1300.can i max overclock to 1100/1575,and how much voltage do i need to put(sort of if you know)?
as for temps at 1000/1400 that i tried my temp never went above 60c and my case fans are still at 45% 3x200mm and 3x140mm BitFenix Pro and 2x120mm Noctua NF-F12
