Music transfer

I can't get my pc to accept and transfer music from my external hard drive to a file.

Some more detail would be appreciated. What format of files, where did you get them? Do they have DRM? What issue do you have - unable to copy, or unable to play the copy? More info is needed.

For a plain-vanilla FLAC file that I burn from a CD, I can copy it anywhere and play it from anwhere that I copy it to.
