Radeon 5770

I am thinking of getting a Radeon 5770 because of budget but want to know if it can handle Battlefield Bad Company 2 on max settings while running DX11 without any graphics lag like I can with a 4870?

If it cant, will it in crossfire?

  1. In that case the 4870 would hae slightly more graphics power. Can you find anything like a 5850 for your budget? What res are you setting your monitor at?
  2. Question going to be hard to answer w/o knowing resolution you are playing at.

I couldn't find any BBC2 benchies but this will show you how various 5000 series cards perform on AVP and Dirt2 (about 2 and half weeks old)...

Testing was performed at 1920x1200 with 2x anti-aliasing and maximum in-game settings.

Testing was performed at 1920x1200 with 2x anti-aliasing and ULTRA detail settings.

Based upon those, I'm gonna say a 5830 / 5850 is at least where you wanna be at 1920 x 1200 resolution.....at 1650 x 1050, you should be fine with the 5770.....expect a small performance drop however from your 4870 if using DX10 ..... significant drop in DX11.
  3. But, if you CrossfireX a pair, you're left with what looks to be a great setup; matching a single 5870.
  4. I have been running 1920x1080 on a 21.5" 1080p monitor at 75 hz
