Hey I just built my first pc, and everything seems to be working except that when I try and play a video game at full screen I get really distorted vertical banding all across the screen. (Ill try and get a picture up if i can)
Ive tried playing Battlefield 2 and the Crysis Demo
the crysis demo worked in windowed mode.

Im running:

Win 7 64 bit
8g DDR3 Ram
Asus p755d-e Pro
Intel I5750
OCZ stealthxstream 700w
Ati Radeon HD 5850

I have reduced the scaling setting to 0% in Catalyst Control Center in order to make my screen fill my monitor 1920x1080p Acer h243h.

Make sure you have the latest version of catalyst and the hotfix which is meant to fix this problem :)

Oh ok, thats good to hear, often with the new cards and slightly older drivers, screen tearing like that was common, good to hear it works fine with dvi, perhaps your hdmi is a bit screwed up :)

ill have to give it a go with a better cable, the one i used came with the monitor.

If the same flickering occurs, then it most likely has something to do with what i mentioned earlier
